1. What this is
ZimCollects is an Australian Pokémon TCG buyback service and small accessories shop, operated from Melbourne. By submitting a card for a quote, accepting an offer, or purchasing an item from our shop, you agree to these terms.
We trade in good faith and only do business with residents of Australia. We don't accept submissions or ship orders outside Australia.
2. Buying & Selling
Selling to us (buyback). You can request a quote on cards you own and have the legal right to sell. By submitting a card you confirm it is genuinely yours, unencumbered, and accurately described.
Buying from us (shop). Orders for accessories (display cases, sleeves, related items) form a contract once we accept your order and your payment is processed by Stripe.
3. Pricing & Quotes
Quotes generated on our website are estimates, not binding offers. They are based on the condition you describe and the live market data we have at the time of submission. The quote becomes a firm offer only after we physically receive and inspect the card.
If, on inspection, the card's condition, authenticity, or identity differs from what was claimed, we may revise the offer. You will receive a counter-offer with a clear explanation. You then have 72 hours to accept the revised offer or request the card be returned. If we don't hear back within 72 hours we will follow up before taking any further action.
4. Shipping & Risk of Loss
For accepted submissions we provide a prepaid Australia Post label. We strongly recommend you ship cards using a tracked service and consider Australia Post Extra Cover for high-value items.
Until your parcel is scanned as received at our address, the card remains at your risk. Once we have scanned and logged it into our system, the risk of loss or damage transfers to us.
Pack cards properly: sleeve, top-loader or semi-rigid holder, taped shut, inside a padded mailer or rigid card mailer. Damage caused by inadequate packaging may affect the final offer.
5. Payment
Once you accept our final offer, we pay you in Australian dollars by direct bank transfer (PayID or BSB/account) within 24–48 hours of acceptance, excluding weekends and public holidays.
You are responsible for any tax obligations arising from selling cards to us. We do not withhold tax. If you are selling in the course of carrying on a business, please let us know so we can issue the appropriate paperwork.
6. Right to Refuse
We may refuse any submission at our discretion, including (without limitation) cards that are counterfeit, altered, stolen, materially misrepresented, or that we cannot authenticate. We may also decline to do business with anyone who has previously submitted counterfeit or stolen items.
If we refuse a submission and the card has already been shipped to us, we will return it at our cost — except where we are required by law to surrender it (for example, to police if it is reported stolen).
7. Counterfeit Cards
Counterfeit Pokémon cards are illegal to sell in Australia. If a card you submit is confirmed counterfeit, we will not return it. We will notify you, document the item, and may report it to the appropriate authorities and to the trademark holder. No payment will be made.
If you submitted a card in good faith (for example, you bought it secondhand and didn't know), tell us as soon as you can — we'll work with you to handle it sensibly.
8. Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email us first at hello@zimcollects.com.au. We aim to resolve every issue within 10 business days. Most disputes are about grading or condition — we'll show you our inspection notes and photos.
If we can't resolve it directly, you may contact your State or Territory consumer protection agency (for example, Consumer Affairs Victoria). These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of your use of ZimCollects is limited to the value of the relevant transaction (the accepted offer for a buyback, or the price paid for a shop order).
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our goods or services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL, you are entitled to the remedies set out in the ACL.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your submission or order is the version published on this page at the time you submitted it. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
